Privacy Policy
Effective August 17, 2026. This policy explains how Moonlit Almanac handles information when you use this site.
Operator and contact
Moonlit Almanac is the site operator and controller for the processing described here. We do not offer accounts, comments, or a newsletter form. For privacy questions, contact editor@moonlightpeakshelp.com.
Hosting and request logs
The site is hosted by Vercel. Vercel and its infrastructure providers may process standard web requests and logs to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure. See the Vercel privacy policy.
Your consent preference
We store a versioned first-party consent preference in localStorage under moonlit-almanac:consent. It records your independent analytics and advertising choices, the policy version, and a timestamp. The preference stays on your device until it is changed by a new choice or cleared with site data or by your browser. Consent saved under older policy versions is ignored so that you can choose again. This localStorage entry is not analytics or advertising measurement.
Google Analytics 4 and consent mode
We use Google Analytics 4 with advanced Google Consent Mode v2. By default, analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization are denied. Before you choose, or while analytics_storage remains denied, cookieless pings may include consent state, page and event data, user agent, screen resolution, and IP address as part of normal HTTP transmission. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. See the Google Analytics consent mode reference.
If you accept analytics, analytics_storage is granted for future measurement. Google ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization remain denied for every choice.
Read Google's Google partner-site data use information and visit Google Ads settings.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity for behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay or recordings that help us understand site performance, navigation, and content use. Clarity ad_Storage always remains denied, while analytics_Storage follows your analytics choice.
When analytics storage is denied, Microsoft says Clarity operates in a cookieless limited mode. Basic page views and interactions may still be recorded, so limited behavioral measurement may still occur. Clarity does not recognize that visitor as a returning user and treats each page view as a separate session. Cross-page journey continuity and session replay availability are therefore limited.
Review the Microsoft privacy statement.
Adsterra Native Banner advertising
Moonlit Almanac can use one Native Banner supplied by Adsterra. Adsterra's current privacy policy identifies AD MARKET LIMITED and ADMEDIA LLC FZ together as Adsterra for its online advertising services. Only when a valid Adsterra configuration is present and your independent advertising consent choice has been successfully persisted does the site load the Adsterra Native Banner script.
Adsterra may receive IP address and network information; device and browser information; the current page and referrer; consent signals; interaction data; and cookie or pixel identifiers. These data may be used for advertising delivery, tailoring, security, and measurement.
Review the Adsterra privacy policy and the Adsterra cookie policy.
Information and purposes
Depending on your choice and the service involved, information may include IP address and network information; browser and device information; referrer, page, and navigation data; interaction data such as clicks and scrolling; consent signals; and request timestamps. We use this information for site delivery, performance and behavioral measurement, content improvement, security, and abuse prevention.
Providers, sharing, and retention
The recipients of this information are Vercel for hosting, Google for Analytics, Microsoft for Clarity, and Adsterra—identified in its current privacy policy as AD MARKET LIMITED and ADMEDIA LLC FZ together—for consented Native Banner advertising when their respective services receive it. We do not sell this information. Retention varies by service, data type, and applicable settings. Google Analytics property settings can affect its retention, while Microsoft and Adsterra apply retention under their own service practices; there is no single shared or fixed period stated here.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Go to the Cookie settings button in the footer. Clicking that button opens the consent panel.
Withdrawal takes effect immediately for storage-enabled and cookie-based analytics: future analytics storage is revoked and the providers switch back to limited cookieless measurement. The site removes accessible site Google Analytics cookies, but withdrawal cannot retroactively erase provider records or third-party data that we cannot access.
Use Cookie settings to withdraw advertising consent. Withdrawal immediately removes the site-owned Adsterra loader and advertising container and prevents future Adsterra script loads while advertising remains denied. If you grant advertising consent again and that choice is successfully persisted, an eligible placement may load again.
The site cannot delete existing third-party cookies or provider records already created by Adsterra. To address data already stored, clear browser and site data and use Adsterra provider and browser controls.
Legal bases and your choices/rights
Where applicable, necessary hosting and security processing relies on our legitimate interests in delivering and protecting the site. Analytics storage and Adsterra advertising script loading are based on your respective consent choices. The consent preference is used to honor your choice.
Using the privacy email address above, you may request access, correction, or deletion of relevant personal information, raise an objection, or withdraw consent. Depending on where you live, these rights may be limited by law. You may also complain to the applicable data protection authority.
Adsterra advertising and planned AdSense use
AdSense advertising inventory is not enabled on Moonlit Almanac. The official Google AdSense loader exists only to verify site ownership before any AdSense review or ad serving and does not enable AdSense advertising inventory.
If AdSense is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may place or read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and IP addresses to collect information as a result of serving ads on this site.
Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. You can use the Google Ads settings linked above to control or opt out of personalized advertising.
If other third-party vendors or ad networks are enabled, this policy and the consent flow will identify them, link to their websites, and explain the available ways to opt out of personalized advertising.
In the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we will deploy a Google-certified CMP using the TCF where required before serving applicable personalized AdSense traffic.
