How to compare spells
Start with the effect you need, then compare mana and tier. A higher tier is not automatically the right tool for a small repeated task, especially when the mana cost disrupts the rest of the route.
Spell families organize the table for lookup. They should not be used to infer a missing effect, area, gesture, or unlock. Keep a Not confirmed value open until there is a dependable answer for that spell.

Review the spell name and current description before a quest or gathering route. When an objective requires a specific spell, use that requirement rather than substituting another ability that sounds similar.
